Practical Race Guide
All the logistical information you need to make the most of your Pisa Half Marathon and Pisa Ten race day.
Plan your race day: check start times, free parking options, Start Village details, bag deposit, and route information leading all the way to the finish line below the Leaning Tower.
Expo Village
The Pisa Half Marathon Expo Village will be set up in Piazza del Duomo on Saturday, October 10th, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Participants will be able to collect their bib numbers and race packs, as well as visit the booths of the event's official partners.
Race Pack
We remind all runners that the PRO registration includes the official technical T-shirt as a gift, for both the 21K and 10K events.
Participants registered under the BASIC option will receive the standard race pack without the official T-shirt.
Registration Verification
The ENDU partner desk will be open at the Expo to regularize race registrations. Any issues or documentation updates will be notified in advance via email by ENDU.
Past Edition Shirts
Historic half marathon T-shirts will be available for purchase at the booth of the "Donare la vita" Non-Profit Organization.
All proceeds from sales and profits from the event will be donated to support organ donation initiatives.
The Start
The starting line and the Pisa Half Marathon Start Village are located at IIS L. da Vinci - Fascetti on via Contessa Matilde 74.
Staggered start: Pisa Ten runners will start first, followed by Half Marathon athletes. Note: start times are subject to change due to broadcasting schedule requirements.
8:45
Pisa Ten
Start time for the non-competitive run (10K).
9:00
Pisa Half Marathon
Start time for the FIDAL half marathon (21K).
Parking & Road Closures
Roads on via C. Matilde will be closed starting at 5:00 AM: parking in the immediate vicinity of the start and finish areas will not be possible.
Adjacent streets will remain open, but as they are located in residential areas, parking spaces are limited. We strongly recommend using the suggested public parking areas near the starting area.
The main free parking areas on Sunday are: Via Pietrasantina Car Park, Stadio Arena Garibaldi, and Via Paparelli Car Park.
Paid parking bays are also available nearby, and additional free spaces can be found in the streets surrounding the stadium towards the outskirts of town.
Start Village & Transport
The Start Village will welcome runners starting at 7:00 at IIS "L. da Vinci - Fascetti" on via Contessa Matilde.
For those staying in hotels in Pisa, we recommend checking at the front desk for the nearest city bus stops to reach the starting area within minutes.
Bag Drop
The bag drop service will be available from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM at IIS on via Contessa Matilde.
You must attach the bib-number sticker provided with your race bib to your bag. Bags without stickers will not be accepted.
Restrooms
Toilets near the starting area will be located inside the Start Village at IIS on via Contessa Matilde.
Additional restrooms along the course will be available next to the refreshment stations at km 5, 10, 15, and 20.
Bus
Bus line 1+ connects Pisa Centrale Station with Pietrasantina Park (just 300 meters from the Start Village).
Departures from Pisa Centrale: 7:00 AM, 7:20 AM, 7:40 AM, 8:00 AM, 8:20 AM (travel time: 10 mins).
Return from Pietrasantina Park: from 10:00 AM running every 20 minutes (travel time: 20 mins).
KM 1.8 Split
Pisa Half Marathon and Pisa Ten runners must pay close attention to the route split at KM 1.8.
Half Marathon (21K) participants will continue straight along via delle Cascine toward San Rossore Park. Pisa Ten (10K) runners will turn left onto via del Capannone.
The split point will be clearly marked by signage and race marshals. We kindly ask 10K runners to facilitate smooth movement at the junction.
Shared Finish
Both the Pisa Half Marathon and the Pisa Ten share the Start Village and the scenic finish line below the Leaning Tower.
During the final stages of the race, runners at different paces may share the route.
We kindly ask athletes running at a pace slower than 10 min/km to stay to the right side of the course to allow faster runners to overtake safely.
Finish & Medals
Right after crossing the finish line in Piazza dei Miracoli, all finishers will receive their official medal.
Please keep moving: runners are kindly requested to head towards the post-race refreshment area, exit through Porta Nuova into Piazza Manin, and proceed to the bag drop area inside the Start Village (approx. 300 meters away).
Awards & Results
Award ceremonies will take place on the main stage near the finish line. Provisional and official rankings will be available on-site.
Official times and standings will be available in real time on the ENDU platform.
Finish Area Restrooms
Portable toilets at the finish line are located inside the Start Village (IIS on via C. Matilde), approximately 300 meters from the finish area.
